My son-in-law built a catio onto the side of their house. Their cat loves it. A Mourning Dove decided to have her nest right above the door that leads to the outside. So the cat knows the bird is there but can’t get to it and it’s a comedy of errors. The bird parents are not the least bit stressed out by the cat being RIGHT there. Here are the pictures of the bird vs cat situation.

You can only see but you can’t, touch, unless, you break through the window, in which case, you will be, SLEEPING, outside! Hope that the cat will, learn this, lesson before it actually, gors, after the mourning dove’s, eggs…
She can’t get to the eggs. She’s in the catio looking up but the birds are outside. Everyone is safe from everyone else.
It is just so wonderful, I don’t know what to say! Except, kiss your son in law for me!
She loves her catio and is outside all the time. But the birds nested right by the entrance from the kitchen window and she doesn’t know what to do about them. :)
wow, I so love this!
The doves are adorable and the cat…well, can’t figure out how to get to the birds, since there is no way to do it.
Aww, poor kittie . . .
She’s wondering why she can’t get them and they are fine with her being there. So funny that the birds are okay with their nest over a catio.
It must be a strange thing to witness in person.
Nothing to be done. The birds are fine and seem to know the cat can’t get them. What a place to build their nest.
Haha! That is too funny… but such a tease!
Poor cat. The birds aren’t bothered by having a cat right underneath them at all. So weird.
Too funny!😂
The birds couldn’t care less, the cat…that’s a different story.
Love it.
I think she’s settling down now but once the babies are born and chirping…it might be a different story.
This is amazing. I’m fascinated!
My daughter said the cat got used to the birds and doesn’t pay any attention to them any longer. Wait until they start peeping.
He’s fascinated.
Should be interesting for sure.
