“We can only exist by taking our minds
off the fact that we exist.”

The DJ Contest
The vote are in and Dee Dee won hands down. Bruce is into Heavy Metal and Rap and the chicklets wanted Rock and Roll. Bruce did get several votes, however, and it was decided that he could play his music for twenty minutes, at the end of the party.
Dee Dee has been into the food coloring, trying to find a new look for the party, but the colors ran and her face is rather strange looking. She said the colors will wash out and that she’s thinking of just keeping her own color. Everyone agreed most heartily. The chicklets are compiling a list of songs they would like Dee Dee to play. The excitement is building and Dee Dee plans on spending the entire week-end preparing for the big night. Bruce has been a very good sport. He even gave Dee Dee a peck on the beak and told her that he was happy for her. She thanked him and they touched wings.
Blogger laurie27wsmith (the chicks just love him) wrote this wonderful poem in Dee Dee’s honor. Thank you Laurie. We all think you are fabulous…chirp.
Dee Dee is a DJ
a young chick on the loose,
she’ll be here on Valentine’s Day
sorry bout that Bruce.
I realize this is a terrible photograph. I tried to catch them through a window without a screen but they were already running for the fence. I was surprised to see three black squirrels together. Just thought you might be interested:) Sorry about the quality of the photograph.
The pictures in this book are beautiful. There are a lot of them and they are not all photographs of desserts, but of Paris itself. When I was in Paris I could not believe how amazing the pastries were. Not only were they delicious and beautiful but the shops themselves were wonderful. Some of the employees wore lovely uniforms and everything was done with style and ceremony. Truly a memorable experience and the eclairs…OMG. I have never tasted anything like them.
Peanut butter, whole grain bread and seeds
Birds, squirrels, possums, etc., love these. Peanut butter is good for everyone outside…but peanut butter alone is not good for birds, etc. You have to mix it with seeds, in order for the birds to be able to handle it and not get too sticky. So put the peanut butter on bread then smash it into a bowl of seeds…then feed your outdoor friends. I used to mix it in batches and smear it on the fence and branches. That works very well, just be sure to put lots of seeds in it.
