Art Fair at Dawes Park in Evanston on the lake
The Art Fairs are so small now. They used to be so fabulous and huge but times have changed and so have they. It was 91 degrees but there was a strong wind, so it was okay…still HOT though. I love Lake Michigan with a passion. She’s MY lake and I just let everyone else use Her 🙂 LOL Hey, I mean it.
Ribbon
I bought ribbon at the Fiber Fair. I love ribbon like this. I use it for all sorts of things.
More spindle things…
Each one is a work of art. They are beautiful. They look like tiny umbrellas or trees.
Bunny and a lady (but you already know that, don’t you)
A woman was holding a bunny at the Fiber Fair. I think the bunny just wanted to sleep. Everyone just oooooooh’s and ahhhhhh’s over the bunnies. There were six of them.
This is for blogger Jennifer…
Jennifer makes socks. This is a sock keeping thing. I thought about her all day long. She knits and sews and quilts and does everything I would never think of doing. Anyway. I have the name of the people who make this, Jennifer…in case you want whatever it is. I think it holds the 4 little needles and the sock. It’s a Sock Keeper. I forgot to see how much it was. I was really distracted by all the weird stuff around me. People kept asking us if we did this or that and we just kept saying, “Uh, no. We just came to see what it was all about.” It was a lot of fun and I did by some fantastic ribbon. I’ll take a picture of it so you can see it. And, I bought a ball of yarn because I liked the color. 🙂
Spindles
Debbie and I went to a Fiber Fair. Our first. We didn’t know what have the things were. They had yarn and FIBERS of all kinds. They also had things to do felting and knitting and quilting and weaving and spinning. I’m probably leaving something out. The gentleman (and I’m thinking his wife) had these for sale. Cool mushrooms, right? They actually spin fiber. He showed us how to do it and it was great. He said they found these spinners in Egypt (well, not THESE, different ones…ones used by 4,500 old Egyptians) 4,500 years ago and they think there older ones. They found them all over the world for our ancient past. He was nice and spent time telling us stories and showing us how to use everything. No. Never. I will never do this but it was nice to learn about it. Baby spinning wheels. 🙂
