Book review…No stars at all

I don’t read mysteries.  Having said that, this one took place in Paris so I thought I would give it a shot.  Truly terrible book.  Couldn’t finish it.  I can’t think of one positive thing to say about it.  It was slow and so very, very, boring.   I didn’t care about any of the characters and the promise of the Lost Generation being part of the book was a joke. For the most part, theirs name are mentioned in passing.  I stopped reading it about a hundred and fifty pages in…which was far too late.

Plot:  A girl goes missing.  Her parents hire a PI to find her.  He knew the girl and slept with her before.  He meets a cast of characters, including Man Ray and other assorted artists and strange people.  No one has seen the girl…big surprise.  Horrible theater where grisly scenes are played out.  No one has seen the girl..still.  I quit reading.  Boring beyond belief.  I actually skipped a chapter and it didn’t matter.  Tomorrow the book will go out with the recycling, so it that might be turned into something useful and feel better about itself.

 

Truth…no excuses…ever…not one. Ya know, I think people would think twice about what they did to every living thing if they knew for sure that it would be done to THEM at some point in their lives
