Mona…a short story.

Mona
sat in a booth
at the The Greenery
waiting for
a chocolate malt
with whipped cream
and a large order of fries
The Greenery
was her go-to place
when she needed a
pick-me-up
suddenly there were
raised voices
and an argument
broke out between
a man
dressed entirely in black
and the woman
behind the counter
he shouted
that his drink
was too hot
he felt Mona’s gaze
and turned toward her
fangs out
hissing
in her direction
stupid vampires
she thought
always complaining
about the temperature
of their bloody drinks
