made these gifts
for the chicklets and guests alike
something to remember
this wonderful shared experience by

The Entertainment Committee is putting on a balancing act, as well as a roller skating routine. Henry, the parrot will provide the background music

this is an act
that everyone looks
forward to
Henry loves to sing
the skaters have been practicing
everyday
and the balancing act
is a high point in the festivities
David
the spider
is the
choreographer

The Acting Committee is ready to do their reenactment of Camelot…

The room stills
as King Arthur
and his crew
come onto the stage
Gwen looks beautiful
and so does
Excalibur
but no one likes
Lance
who
along with Gwen
makes a mess
of everything
the chicklets
think they all should
have known better
and the world
would be a different place
if King Arthur had lived
and been happy
but there is a burst of
chirps
as the cast bursts
into peeps
singing
Camelot
like Richard Harris
and at the end
when Arthur is sent to
Avalon
there is dead silence
in the audience
as Gwen
chirps softly
her sad
goodbyes

 

The Acrobats…

the acrobats
are doing their best
to entertain everyone
and are balancing while
wearing their costumes
which is quite dangerous
especially for the bat
since his wings are pretty much
unavailable
the pumpkin isn’t that free
to flap either
but the crowd loves them
so they keep their wings
tucked in tight
throughout the applause

Athena…

Athena’s favorite color
is blue
she’s chirping and peeping to
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
to the swaying crowd
who are mesmerized
by her vocal agility
a singer from a very
young age
she’s always
a star of the show
she wants you to know
that her favorite movie is
Bell, Book and Candle
with Kim Novak
her dream is to learn
to play the bongo drums
like Jack Lemmon

A Magic Act and a song…

 

the Magic Committee
is working hard
to impress the audience
with their magic tricks
mistakes have been made
but no one noticed
and now the bird
is singing

The Flier…

every party has a flier
this is Johnny
he loves to fly around
the Party Barn
and thrill the
chicklets and guests
he’s very fast
and never falls
which is really good
because as I said
he’s very fast
the crowd
showers him
with applause
as he completes
his final circut

The tumbling team does an exciting routine, with a spotter at the ready…

The spotter is an important part
of the team
and makes sure no wings
or beaks
are damaged
during the routine
the chicklets
are showing
strength
balance
and the ability
not to burst into
laughter
all positive
traits for
those who
tumble

As darkness falls over The Coop, everyone is in the Party Barn…
