The Conversation…

“How much longer?” asked the woman in the back.

“Why?”

“You’re leaning on my head.”

“So?”

“It’s been years. I’m getting a migraine. Please move your arm.”

“I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“We’re  a statue.  We were made this way.”

“You HAVE to be kidding me.”

“I’m not,” she said.  “It’s no fun for me either, you know.  The book weighs a TON.   My legs have been numb since the first week we got here.  My arm is killing me as well and I won’t even tell you how much my neck hurts.  But the thing that’s truly driving me crazy is that I can’t turn the bloody PAGE!”

I always feel story for statues that have to hold heavy loads forever, or until the sun eats the earth.  Plus He couldn’t possibly stand on his own two feet so he has an extra piece of something holding him up.  He’s beautiful but I bet he’s tired.
