The Conversation…

Cat, Relax, Chill Out, Camacho

“So, the prez is mucking around with the post office,” said the cat.”He’s trying to rig the election and he’s proud of it.  He admits he’s doing it.”

“I’m not watching the news.  It’s making me sick.”

“That’s a good sign.  It should make everyone sick.”

“The republican party needs to be abolished forever.  All of them are guilty of crimes against the people, since none of them have the courage to stop what’s happening,” she said.

“What if they don’t want to stop it?”

“That’s even worse!”

“”I agree.  It is worse.  But another party,  just like them, would take their place.”

“I’m so tired, of so many things.”

“Better get used to it.”

“That’s what I don’t want to do.  If we all get used to it, no one will remember when things were different.”

“It’s going to happen, one way or the other.  Nothing will ever go back to being what it was, at least not all the way.”

“I think we should make life size bodies and put them on the lawn of the white house.  One for every person who has needlessly died because of trump and those who won’t stop him.”

“It would cover the place in a couple of weeks.”

“I think we should do that, so everyone can see what that number of dead bodies actually LOOKS LIKE.”

“It would be impressive.  No doubt about it.   Some wouldn’t believe it.  Still, it’s a great idea.”

“I just can’t stop being tired.  The things that are happening have actual weight.  Everything is so heavy.  It’s driving me to watch movies like, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and YOU’VE GOT MAIL, because those were…”

“Are there cats in them?”

“No,”

“Then I don’t care.  There are never enough cats in films.  It’s a disgrace.”

“You think so?” she asked.

“I do. It’s a clear case of discrimination. You see dogs all the time.  Dogs are everywhere and sometimes movies are even named after them.”

“Cats can’t chew.”

“I beg your pardon?” said the cat, suddenly alert.

“I said, cats can’t chew.  They can’t move their jaws from side to side.  Their mouths are made to tear and shred.”

“What am I supposed to do with that information?” he asked.

“Nothing, I just thought you should know.”

“Why?”

“I have no idea,” she said.  “That’s what’s happening to my brain.  Trivia, so I don’t have to think about al the things that I can’t do anything about.  I WANT TO PUT BODIES ON THE LAW OF THE WHITE HOUSE TO SHOW PEOPLE HOW MANY HAVE ALREADY DIED AND THEN ADD MORE EVERYDAY UNTIL NO MORE ARE DEAD.”

“WOW! hissed Jinx.  “What’s going on.”

“Oh, sorry,” she said, reaching to pet him.  “I freaked out a little.  I’m okay now.”

“Have you ever been okay?” asked the cat.

She thought for a minute and then said, ” I really don’t know. Measured against what?  Something a white male set up?  A guy who has no idea what women are like, or go through?  I’d like to set  everything up for men and see how they are JUDGED.”

“How’s the tuxedo cat?” asked Jinx.

“Beautiful,” she said, smiling.  “He’s very sweet.”

“We can’t chew,” said the cat, looking at Jinx.

“We can’t? said Jinx.  “Does it matter?”

“No,” she said.  “It doesn’t.”

“Why would we need to chew?  We swallow everything whole,” said Jinx.  “Dogs don’t chew either, they gnaw.”

“I’m sorry I said anything,” she sighed.  “It’s just something I read and never thought about before.  Who DOES think about those things?”

“Fall is coming,” said the cat.

“I know,” she sighed.  “Then winter and snow and ice and freezing things.”

“Don’t get her started,” said the cat.

“I think it’s too late,” said Jinx, rubbing against her legs.

“No Trick or Treat, Christmas, no anything any longer.”

“You said that before,” said the cat.  “Why don’t you pet Jinx for awhile.”

“I wish I knew how to make life size bodies, so I could carry out my plan to dump them on the lawn of the white house.”

“You’d never get close to the lawn on the white house and don’t even think about an airplane.  You couldn’t fit that many bodies into an airplane and it’s a no fly over zone.”

“How do you know that?” she asked.

“I keep telling you…cat’s know EVERYTHING.  Don’t you pay attention?”

“Then we can put the bodies on the street.”

“You can’t make and move hundreds of thousands of bodies around that easily.”

“I still want to do it.”

“You’ll have to add a thousand a day,” said Jinx.  “How can you make that many, let alone the first hundreds of thousands?”

“It’s the only way to make an impact.  We are visual animals.  If people SEE ALL THE BODIES, maybe they’ll wake up.”

“People don’t want to wake up,” said Jinx.  “They want other things, like money and power.”

“Okay, time for me to go,” she said, standing up.  “I love you guys.”

“Will you be okay?” asked Jinx.  “Do you want me to walk you home?”

“No, thank you.  I’ll be fine.  It’s your nap time.”

“Thank you for the food,” he purred.

“You’re welcome,” she said, reaching down to pet him.  “You’re a wonderful cat, Jinx, and I love you so very much.”

“Hey, what about me?” asked the cat.

She kissed him and said.  “You don’t like it when I tell you that I love you.”

“That doesn’t mean I want you to stop,” he said.

“I love you,” she whispered into his fur.

“Okay,” he said.  “You can go now.”

The cat has forgotten the White House has been transformed into a veritable fortress —

  2. Enjoyed the story! 📖😊🌟

  3. I’m so tired, of so many things.” Yep.

  4. “Have you /ever/ been okay?”
    Made me think…
I suppose our measure of what’s OK oscillates between extremes. We each have a baseline of what OK means, and we then cycle below (not OK) to above (more than OK) and this cycle, hopefully always returns to the mean. When it doesn’t, when it dips into the out of sorts for too long, we get worried that normal will never return. And that is something to be worried about. What you don’t want to happen is to have your baseline reset at a lower level of OK.

Everything does feel heavy. Like the air itself is having trouble moving.

    • I agree. And the balance of what’s okay right now, at least in politics, is so far below what’s actually okay, that I can’t lift it off the ground. Few things are okay right now. But for each of us…your words make perfect sense.

  5. Excellent. I am here courtesy of House of Heart. As Garfield said to Odie, “can you believe this guy is admitting to using the post office to win the election?” Odie nods yes. “Can you believe that senator guy from the cheese state admits that his committee’s investigation is designed to help Biden lose?” Odie nods yes. Garfield asks “Odie are you nodding yes because you are not surprised they are cheating or they are telling us they are cheating?” Odie holds up a sign “Both, but the question is why is this not considered a problem anymore?”

When Garfield looks surprised at the astute observation, Odie holds up another sign that said “When Kevin McCarthy admitted in an interview in 2015 the continual Benghazi hearings were to help Hillary lose, he was asked to step down from consideration as Speaker of the House. Apparently, lying and cheating are now a new sport.”

    Thanks for the inspiration. Keith

    • I’m a Garfield and Odie fan. Jon is always the dupe and that’s what the masses have turned into. We are being played and no one seems to be able to stop what’s happening. They brag about being manipulative and horrible. I’m disgusted by what’s going on. Thank you for your wonderful comment. Cats and dogs are always smarter than we realize.

      • Thanks. I am not surpised that he cheats, which is his modus operandi. I am concerned that he feels he can brag on cheating with impunity. But, I am disgusted by the sycophants who look the other way and rationalize this illicit behavior. The White House incumbent is the most corrupt and deceitful president in my lifetime and that includes Richard Nixon who was a crook. Keith

      • Tricky Dick was a crook. No doubt about it. The present administration is made up of psychopaths and sociopaths. Yes men and greedy, power hungry people who care absolutely nothing for the people and they have no moral compass at all. They lie so much, there is no truth. It’s impossible to believe that he can get away with the things they are doing and no one seems to be able to stop them. He brags about the lies he tells and laughs at the things he gets away with. He wants his face on Mt. Rushmore and he wants to be president for life. He said both of those things OUT LOUD. I think we can add egomaniac to the list of things he is. Well, it will play itself out, one way or another. See if he can destroy the post offices before the election.

    • And, why is it so many people who have flown to close to the Trump sun have wound up in jail or sentenced to jail? Today, I read Steve Bannon has been accused of fraud, using a website to raise money for the infamous wall, but instead pocketing a cool million. Trump is either an incredibly poor judge of talent or wants people to work for him who know how to cheat. I do know they happiest people in America are the ones who turned down Trump’s offers to work for him.

      • I think he only recognizes the lowest form of human as members of his tribe. He can give them what they want to be his yesmen and they all have the same interests: Greed and Power.

  6. An excellent, thoughtful and thought-provoking post! The bodies on the White House lawn … brilliant. Impossible, but still brilliant.

    • It would make a real difference. I just don’t know if it’s possible. I don’t think people understand the numbers but they would understand the piles and piles of bodies. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

  7. I love it when someone makes strong points and complete sense in clever and entertaining ways. We seem to hear and understand better that way. If everyone that cared carried one body to the Casa Blanca it would be a massive traffic jam, and that would get attention too. Cats are cool 😎 and apparently quite clever.

    • That would be fabulous. If we could come up with a plan. It’s the only way to make people understand what that many people look like. It’s not numbers. People can’t relate to numbers that high but if they saw the bodies, it would wake people up by causing a massive traffic jam which, as you said, would also get attention.

      • Yes! And then the rest of the world would follow suit. The world populations are restless and unhappy with their governments. We are realizing that it is the people that give government their power and treasury and for our labor we should expect good healthcare of the people and the planet. It starts with all of us as individuals and as you said, the numbers stricken by any malady are just numbers until the realization comes that those numbers would fill entire cities and cover the countryside so that nothing else could be seen except the results of our failure to govern and take care of ourselves and one another. This pandemic is only the beginning and we must have a reckoning amongst ourselves and hold a perverted government accountable.

      • Absolutely. People need to stand up and be counted. Somehow everyone forgot that THE GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR US.

  8. He’s such a great cat! Only a true cat person could understand how to portray him!

    • Wow! What a huge compliment. Thank you so much for that. ❤ Meow. Love to J & J from Em, who is enjoying this beautiful weather. The days are getting so much shorter already and the sun is coming in at a weird slant. I hope we don't go right into winter and skip fall, although, it already feels like and smells like fall.

  9. Wow
    Your posts are always amazing
