Play…a poem

childhood
for many
is a time of freedom
a time when responsibility
consists of brushing your teeth
and doing your homework
it’s easy to love snow
when all you have to do is
play in it
play is exciting
it teaches
informs
wakes us up
delights us
makes us creative
stirs our imagination
makes us happy
and
catching snowflakes
on our tongues
is pretty much a given
it’s something that never
goes out of style
play is always important
it’s part of who we are
a part that too many people
lock away in the name of
adulthood
but
PLAY
is the very best
part of all of us
and we need to
play as often as possible
if we want to be
truly happy
play
is
joy
unbound
it’s the
WILD
part
of each of us
the part
that
dreams
the part
that
flys
play
is how
we communicate
with ourselves
