Voltaire is my hero. Rousseau was a jerk. Very bad influence (Rousseau) on human thinking… Voltaire all the way. (Those portraits are painted on Electric boxes around the Pantheon. Not sure I saw this one.)

    • Oh, I didn’t know that’s where they were placed. Thank you. I don’t actually know much about Rousseau, but I believe you. 🙂

Yes, it’s quite a nice walk around the Pantheon where all great men (and women) are buried. The irony is that both Rousseau and Voltaire (who hated each other’s guts) are buried in the Pantheon. The idiot who ordered it, placed their tombs facing one another… So they will be fighting for eternity. A crooked move from the curator.

      • Life in this place is like that, isn’t it? Can’t even win when you’re dead. My father buried my mother next to his parents. She’s probably still trying to run away. Then, he died and he’s next to her. I wonder if he’s still cheating with the other women who are in their graves? If so, my mom’s life hasn’t changed at all. I’m being cremated and let go. That’s what I did with our son and my husband and all my beloved animals. I don’t want to leave anyone I love in this place.

You do have a sense of humour Gigi. Sorry for your mother. 🙂 (And your son and your husband, of course, I always remember what you’ve been through). And yes, cremated is the best way.

  2. Thank you. life’s like that. It’s all so insane, when you stop and think about it.
