“She seemed nice,” said Tim.  “What’s in the box?”

“Not sure,” replied Ace.

“Aren’t you going to open it?”

“No.  Not right now.”

“There’s a cat on the kitchen windowsill.  Maybe we should get a screen.”

“How did it get up here?” she asked, walking into kitchen.

“Meow.”

“There’s a white cat on the kitchen windowsill,” she mumbled, turning toward Tim.

“I know. I just said that.”

“Meow,” said the cat, dropping to the floor.”

“Caw?”

“Meow,” said the cat, following the bird into the other room.

“Well, that settles that,” said Ace.

“It does?”

“Sure.  They obviously know each other, so the cat must be okay.”

“Do you let everyone you meet move in with you?” asked Tim.

 “You’re here aren’t you?

 “Good point,” he admitted.

“We need cat food,” said Ace, happily.
