Willow and Birch were born to surf…

Chicklets don’t actually swim.  Their feathers can’t take the water but Willow and her brother Birch just went for it.  I was terrified but the pair rode the waves and got a round of applause from the human surfers who admired their courage and style.  They were not allowed to surf in Maui, it was far too dangerous.  Fortunately, the Rubber Duck Pond at The Coop is always calm and peaceful.  Still, the two plan on making surfboards over the summer (I would not let them take two home on the plane).  I had no idea they would love the ocean so much.  Sigh.  I hope they don’t get in the way of the Gondola, when it’s out on the Rubber Duck Pond.  I think we are going to have to post LifeDogs around the pond to jump in and save the chicklets if they fall off of anything.   The bunnies were not interested in surfing and when Willow offered to make a board for them, they politely declined.  With the exception of one goat, all the others refused their kind offer.

  2. ❤ that was one brave goat too!

    • Goats have good balance so they are fearless. He has little bathing trunks with bluebirds on them. The chicklets are going to make him a surfboard with a blue strip and a bird on the front. They are thoughtful that way.
