The kids were very happy to see the beautiful parrots of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco

This is so fabulous.  Really exciting.  I love that they’re free and can have a nice life.

I so want to go see them! Thanks for posting~

    • They actually had a great time but said they would never go back. LOL At 4:00 p.m. the temp drops into the 50s and the winds are 60 mph. They talked to a lot of people while they were there and that happens everyday. It doesn’t get above 70 during the day and there are no season. They wore coats the whole time they were there. One woman said they make tons of money selling fleece jackets, sweatshirts and coats because people don’t realize how cold it is in San Francisco.

They are having a horrific problem with homeless people. They are going to the bathroom on sidewalks, in public. and she said in smells bad, in some places. One of the people who worked in their hotel said the local government is trying to figure out what to do about it. It’s taking a toll on tourism. Apparently a family was walking down the street and some guy was squatting going to the bathroom and the father said, “That’s it, we’re getting out of her,” and they went home. It’s in the downtown area.

The kids went bike riding through the park and there were homeless people everywhere. The boys kept going but Deb and Jesse stopped and left because it was so awful and even with a map on, the bikes, it was confusing and a bit creepy. As for the parrots, she said you can hear them but it’s hard to see them. None of us knew there were no beaches there and the water, of course, is like ice. But the temps are low, so no one wanted to swim anyway. Debbie wore a scarf, she was so cold! They loved seeing the Redwoods and going to some of the other places but they would never go there again. They used Uber the entire time they were there and said it was fantastic, the only way to go. You don’t have to find parking, spend time looking for things, etc. It was great. 🙂
