Lorikeet

Lorikeet

Color

I am SO desperate for COLOR.  It’s dark and raining again.  This fabulous Lorikeet was trying to eat my granddaughter’s bracelets.  This was taken at  Busch Gardens in Florida.  A place I LOVE.  I posted this picture a long time ago but I just wanted to add some color to an otherwise dreary day.  Lorikeets are sweet and incredibly beautiful.

    Gorgeous!

    • I couldn’t believe how beautiful and tame they were. It’s a bird enclosure and all kinds of birds land on you. It was so amazing. We kept going back because it was so much fun.

We have a place here, Parrot Jungle, huge parrots can sit on your shoulders if you let them…they are heavy!!!!

      • I know. I had them on my shoulders and arms in Vegas and they ARE heavy. They nibbled on me and we had to watch out jewelry because they bite it and want the sparkles:) They were wonderful. An experience I will never forget.

They’re lovely birds Gigi. Here’s a link to my offerings from last year, I took them in a friend’s backyard.

I get these cheeky birds in my garden eating all the apples from my tree, you have taken a lovely photograph.

  5. 🙂 Sooo pretty. Can you believe I still have yet to go to Busch Gardens?

    • It’s soooooo wonderful. You can feed and pet giraffes and Kangaroos. You can play with the birds and everything is so beautiful. Lush gardens. Really a lot of fun. They had great roller coasters and the kids loved them. Not me. People who live near things rarely go to them. Some people in NY have never been to the top of the Empire State building. LOL If you ever get a chance to go…take it.

What an exquisite creature! If it wouldn’t hurt it, I would give it the bracelet to play with 🙂

    • They were so sweet and so much fun. The bracelets were so thin but it couldn’t manage to bite through it. I was surprised by that. Yes, we would have been more than willing to give the bracelet to the beautiful bird but it may have gotten caught on it or been turn in some way, so we didn’t do it. They are wild birds in Australia. Isn’t that incredible?

  7. Truly. They really are. Humans are so drab and plain compared to the birds and animals, even caterpillars. 🙂 I’m so happy that you are still writing:)

  8. I am SO desperate for COLOR….i know, i’ve forgotten what color looks like Sis. but as i write,
it is sunny and warmer today. it might be time to venture outside!

    • THAT is wonderful news. It was 30 this morning but the sun has been peeking in and out. Think it’s going to get in the low 40s, fingers crossed. I am going to go in the yard later so I hope you get outside as well. Might get to 50 later in the week:) And yes, how awful would life be without color, without plants and flowers and trees. We need to help the bees or that’s what we will have. Have a wonderful day bro and enjoy your time outside:) Hugs.
